2013
Happy New Year! (Is it too late to keep saying that?) Overall I'd say 2012 was pretty great. I quit a draining part time job I've had for 3.5 years. I started baking cakes. It was my first full year of running Matchbox Kitchen. I traveled to Hawaii, Australia, Las Vegas, and San Francisco. We adopted two cats, Max and Zelda.

There were plenty of not so great times as well. I stressed about paying bills. I made a lot of business mistakes. I made a lot of baking mistakes! I cried and cried and cried some more. I thought about quitting baking, going back to school, and getting any old job. I wanted to give up more times than I'd like to admit.
But of course, nothing this rewarding comes without risk and sacrifice and I can honestly say that 2012 has been one of the best years of my life.
This year I have a better sense of what I'd like to focus on. I want to travel more (Seattle, Australia, San Francisco, and possibly Big Sur and Chicago). I want/need to spend more time with friends. I would like to invest more money/effort in making our apartment feel like home. As for my business, I need to make bigger financial investments, expand my online shop, and would love teach some baking classes later in the year!
