Phew, what a whirlwind these past few weeks have been. I’ve been chugging away at my new website/online shop that will (hopefully) make its official debut (well, soft opening) next week. Web design is definitely not my forte so at times it’s been quite a struggle. I hope to be back in the kitchen doing some cake experimenting soon and sharing the results with you all. I’ve got some weird/good? ideas that I really want to try out!
If you follow me on instagram you might already know: we got another kitten! He is a boy and we’ve officially named him Max. He is a serious cuddle monster and just wants to sit in your lap, follow wherever your hand goes (so you can pet him) and purr all day. Pretty much the total opposite of Zelda. He’s been with us for a week now and they’re slowly becoming pals. I think I read every single article online about introducing a new cat to the house, but because they are both so young things have progressed quickly.
Last weekend my brother asked me to make a cake for his friend’s birthday party and requested a two tier fresh strawberry + chocolate cake. This thing was HEAVY! We had to park two blocks away from the party and I carried it on the cake stand the whole way. I was so nervous of what people would think about my cake, I think it’s the first time I was there to hear 30+ immediate reactions. Thankfully it was well enjoyed and I finally got to breathe a sigh of relief.
In other news, the lovely Natasha asked me a few questions for her “How Did You Do It?” series. Let me just say I was flattered that she asked me because I’m in no position to dole out advice. Thank you for having me, Natasha! You can read the interview here.
Lastly, if you’re in LA stop by Myrtle and support the braid bar fundraiser for Alison. You can read her whole story here. If I didn’t have three cake orders, two cake deliveries (including a wedding!) and a baptism to go to I would be there in a heartbeat. So someone get your hair braided for me while I contain my straggly mane into a sad, sad bun.
