As you read this post I’ll be on my way to Australia! My mom’s side of the family lives there and it’s my grandparent’s 60th wedding anniversary so we are all off to celebrate. I’ll have limited internet access while there, but will be posting on my instagram here and there.
Gary and I have totally turned into obsessed cat people. We still want a dog, but never thought we’d love Zelda as much as we do! One of our goals was to teach her how to go for a walk. Cats on leashes look funny/ridiculous but we’re having so much fun with it. I think she likes it too! This was her second venture outside and she was doing pretty well.
I recently picked up these Dusen Dusen shorts at Myrtle because the weather has been unbearably hot lately. I love how perfectly high waisted they are and how they make me feel taller than my 5′ 3″ self. And of course those are my trusty birkenstocks again, which have become a summer staple.

i have two cats and love them to pieces so i kept on reading… then saw that you’re on your way to australia – i’m not sure where you’re heading in australia, but most likely you might be be rocking those shorts when you get here! It’s definitely not short wearing weather in victoria at the moment!

ahhh! you got her on a leash!
the first time i got sebastian into a harness (in the same purple one too!), he rolled around against the wall trying to get it off. so i gave up and returned the leash and harness. this was when he was maybe 5 months old.
then recently, (he’s a little over 2 years old now) we got him another harness with a bungee cord leash and he’s semi-OK with it now. He’s not trying to get it off when it’s on anymore, but he’s not comfortable walking around in it. It was only $6.88 at the Pasadena Target but still around $14 at other Targets (i don’t get why) so we figured we didn’t have much to lose.
